The Company:
We are working with a leading refurbishment and fit-out contractor who are long established and really well respected.
They have excellent relationships with their clients that means the majority of their work is repeat, negotiated business.
They are cash rich, typically make double digit margins on their projects, have an excellent supply chain who they pay promptly and treat with respect (we know this from our own experience of working with them), staff turnover is also very low as people like working there.
Projects are built on a traditional or a Design and Build basis with scheme values up to £10 Million.
The Role:
As part of their planned growth, they now want to recruit an experienced Pre-Construction Director.
The Precon Director will be responsible for overseeing the bidding process – you will set processes and procedures as you see fit, will make bid/no bid decisions on tenders based on company guidelines, plan workload with the other Company Directors, contribute to and work towards business plan targets, manage the precon team including Estimators, Planners, Business Development, Bid Management and support functions and monthly management reporting.
The company has an established client base so it’s a case of working with the business development team to develop these relationships as well as identifying and generating clients in current and new market sectors where it makes sense for the business to do so.
The role is office based with visits to sites and clients/their representatives where and when required - you will be responsible for managing your own diary.
Reporting in to the Managing Director you will work closely with the Construction Director and Commercial Director.
You:
The company who we’re recruiting for would like to recruit an experienced Pre-Construction Director who has operated in a similar role to that described above.
They would also be keen to speak with Pre-Construction Managers who are ready to take on a larger role and have a track record of supporting other functional leads in taking this step in recent years.
You will be based in or be able to commute to North West of England
You will have a great understanding of the construction industry and will be familiar with Construction Contracts.
Rewards:
You will receive a good salary and a benefits package including, shares in the business, a bonus scheme that rewards endeavour and family-friendly benefits.
You will be working with a small and high-performing preconstruction team in a company who will provide a challenging and supportive working environment, who have a really healthy pipeline of work, a very strong balance sheet who value and support their staff.
