The Company:
We are working with a leading building contractor whose North West Office is gaining a great reputation for delivering varied and interesting projects for clients based in the North West of England.
They have a very approachable and successful senior management team, are members of a number of key public sector, procurement frameworks so secure work in healthcare, for universities, blue light, commercial, industrial and school projects valued up to £50 Million. They are a part of a large Construction Group but still have the feel of a smaller family business where employees are valued and supported.

The Role:
Due to planned growth, they are now in a position to recruit a Graduate / Trainee Planner who will be based from their Manchester office.
Working with their Senior Planners and with regular contact with their Planning Director you'll get involved in both tender and contract planning with typical duties including;
- Supporting with the analysis of construction methodologies looking for areas of improvement.
- Liaise with the Client and their representatives on planning matters.
- Helping to prepare tender programmes.
- Attending client interviews and meetings where you will help to explain programmes and methodology.
- Help to prepare master programmes, updating progress and forecasting completions.
- Supporting the planning team to identify and mitigate risk whilst ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental considerations are taken in to account.
- Work with the rest of the Planning team to identify and champion Best Practice.
You:
To be successful in this role you will need to have worked in a Planning role (Assistant, Graduate or Trainee Planner) for a contractor or consultancy previously.
It’s likely that you will have or be working towards completing a Construction related degree.
You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England.
IT literate with experience using specialist planning software – they use ASTA.
