Assistant Estimator

The Company:

 

We are working with a growing Regional Building Contractor who have grown consistently over the last few years and are capable of taking on construction projects valued up to £15 Million for a varied client base which are almost exclusively based in the North West of England.

They are privately owned, profitable and are active in several market sectors including; education, healthcare, extra care, residential, commercial and industrial.

They secure work through several key regional procurement frameworks and good relationships with private clients.

 

This a new role joining a small but successful Pre-Construction team reporting into a highly experienced Preconstruction Manager.


The Role:

 

Due to gradual and consistent growth they are now in a position to recruit an Assistant Estimator to their Pre-Construction team.

With support from the Preconstruction Manager and the other Estimators you will be tasked with receiving tender enquiries and presenting the details to the Directors and agreeing to bid or not, completing the risk register, working with the rest of the pre-con team to meet deadlines, send out and vet subcontract enquiries, conducting site visits, attending tender review meetings, build up the tender through to tender adjudication and settlement whilst looking for value engineering opportunities, present the financial elements of the tender in line with the clients’ specification and help with post tender negotiations.

This contractor provides really good support and training to help you to be successful in your career with a Senior Management team who have joined from a variety of top tier contractors who are keen to pass on their knowledge.

You:

 

They would like to recruit an Assistant level Estimator who has experience of pricing building schemes similar to those described above who they can guide and support.

They would also consider recruiting a Quantity Surveying Graduate looking for their first role in the industry who they can support.

 

You will be IT literate (previous experience of using specialist Estimating Software would be very useful but they can also train you on using this).

 

You will need to be able to commute to their offices so will likely live in Greater Manchester or Lancashire.
