Senior Site Manager/Construction Manager - Prestigious High Rise Residential

My client are a well-established & respected main contractor who turn over circa £100m per annum. They are an award winning business who have built successful relationships with numerous high profile developers and funders. On the back of these relationships they have been awarded a £30m development of almost 200 apartments. The job consists of 2 7-storey concrete blocks and will not only house apartments but retail and commercial space. They are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Site Manger/Construction Manager for the duration of the scheme.

Senior Site Manager/Construction Manager Duties:

• Attending pre-start meetings to understand and take over the Construction Management aspects of the project.
• Working with the Project Lead to ensure that we have checked all levels and position of buildings, ensuring the most economical and best practices are being adopted on-site at all times.
• Responsibility for ensuring that all works are carried out to the drawings provided. Liaising closely with the professional team to ensure best practices are adopted, with all changes being agreed and drawings revised accordingly.
• Responsible for the management/supervision of all site labour and sub-contractors.
• Monitoring sub-contract progress on site.
• Ensuring both Target & Contract Programmes are monitored at all times.
• Ensuring works are completed to a high standard and inspected prior to payment being made.
• Monitoring programme ensuring all delays are recorded.
• Ensuring that all variations are recorded, keeping accurate records of additional work carried out and liaising closely with the Project QS/Commercial Lead.
• Attending client and sub-contract meetings.
• Checking quality on site at all times.
• Ensuring that all information is kept for the as-built file and making sure the Health & Safety File is completed for the contract, including all statutory certificates from building control and the fire officer.
• Management of all activities on site ensuring workmanship is compliant with the relevant standards and good practice.
• Assisting the Project Lead with the management of the design team to ensure designs are completed within suitable timescales.
• Ensuring detailed minutes are produced of any sub contract meetings, to ensure actions are distributed accurately to all concerned.
• Assisting/supporting the Senior Team with as well as the Building Student Training Programme.
• Ensuring that you have all relevant documentation on site before your projects proceed.
• Keeping our health and safety manager/s informed on all changes which they need to be aware of.
• Ensuring that all operatives on site are working safely and within the guidelines set out by the HSE and our Health, Safety & Environmental Management Systems.
• Ensuring that all operatives on site are inducted prior to starting work.
• Promote a positive Health, Safety & Environmental culture in the business and demonstrate visible leadership including showing personal involvement and setting a good personal example at all times.

Job Requirements:

• SMSTS, First Aid @ Work and a Black CSCS Card
• Previous experience managing high value developments from commencement to completion, working knowledge of concrete structures would be highly beneficial
• The ability to commit to a contract from commencement to completion, circa 2 years.

This role is being offered on a fixed term basis and will offer a salary of between £60,000 - £65,000 + package (dependant on experience).
