Quantity Surveyor

Our Client:
We are working with a well-known construction contractor who successfully deliver high profile, new build projects for a varied client base across the North West of England. This is a real meritocracy where ability and endeavour are rewarded both in terms of career progression opportunities and financial reward.
The vast majority of their projects come from repeat business from an enviable client base.
Their supply chain include some of the best subcontractors in the North West as they pay them on time & treat them well.
They typically work to double digit margins.

The Role:
They are now in a position to add to their Commercial team due to a number of recently secured projects in Greater Manchester. The initial focus is a Manchester based Multi-storey residential project due to commence on site in the New Year. They require a Project QS capable of managing a significant part of a large £50-100 Million new build project based in Central Manchester reporting in to the Commercial Manager leading the scheme.
You will work closely with the operations and technical teams to help reach a successful commercial outcome on the project.

General responsibilities will include the following;
Undertake all commercial and contractual requirements on the designated projects in accordance with the company procedures and processes,
Ensuring sound financial performance including profitability, cash flow, and managing risks and opportunities,
Preparation of accurate and detailed monthly cost reports for review with the Commercial Manager,
Good working knowledge of and application of Main Contract and Sub-Contract Forms and Standard Method of Measurement,
Preparing and agreeing Monthly Valuations, including valuing variations and forecast final account,
Appointment of Subcontractors in accordance with Company Procedures, including procurement and account management including valuations, payment notices and agreement of final accounts,
To work closely with Contracts Management to ensure all required site records and correspondence are completed in accordance with the specific Contract requirements and Company Procedures, Maintain a close working relationship with the client and design team to assist in the success of the project and
Liaise with Contracts Management to review and monitor project costs whilst achieving high standards of quality and health and safety.

Requirements:
Ideally, they would like to recruit a Quantity Surveyor/Project Quantity Surveyor who has previously either led or been a part of a team on significant building projects.
They would also be interested in hearing from people at Intermediate Quantity Surveyor level with ambition to progress with support over time.
You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England daily.
You will be IT literate.
Very contractually aware with specific knowledge of JCT Contracts.
