Assistant Quantity Surveyor

The Company:
We are working with a leading National Construction Group whose North West regional building team have successfully delivered diverse and technically challenging projects for a varied client base across the North West of England.

They work with leading clients, have a really good supply chain that includes the best subcontractors in the North West and are able to negotiate the majority of their projects.
Their projects include Hotels, Student Accommodation Schemes, Offices, Schools, Industrial Units and public buildings.
They take on larger value high rise schemes where you could be a part of a team delivering file schemes with varied challenges and they also have smaller projects where up and coming Assistant/Intermediate QS will be given the opportunity to be commercial lead on projects to aid your development.

The Role:
They are now in a position to add to their Commercial team due to a number of recently secured projects in Greater Manchester.
The initial focus is a Manchester based, hotel project due to commence in early 2019.
They require an Assistant QS capable of working with a commercial team managing subcontract packages reporting in to a resident Commercial lead.
On-going support will be provided by the Senior QSs and Commercial Director and you will work closely with the operations and technical teams to help reach a successful commercial outcome on the project.
Working closely with a Senior QS you will be involved at an early stage on schemes procuring subcontract packages, placing orders, managing subcontract accounts, carrying out site measurements, monthly forecasting and working closely with the delivery team to ensure successful commercial conclusions on your projects.

They would like to recruit an Assistant or Intermediate level Quantity Surveyor or Trainee Quantity Surveyor who has worked for a building contractor/subcontractor in a similar role for a number of roles.
You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England daily.
You will be IT literate and contractually aware (familiarity with JCT contracts would be particularly useful).
